Sunday 4th March 2018

I’m sitting at my window, in the middle of nowhere (rural North East Scotland) watching snow fall.  We’re in the midst of a snowstorm from Russia called “The Beast from The East.”  I have been unable to get into town for 5 days. Even the dog has had enough.  It has been -9C for much of the week.  Woolly jumpers, hot soup and huddling beside the wood burning stove, seems the only sensible thing to do.

One week today, I’ll be in Kenya.  My next adventure awaits. I’m heading out to Osiligi Obaya Primary School for a 4 week placement to support the teachers and Head Teacher with implementation of the new curriculum. The school is in the Maasai area of Olepolos and is supported by a UK charity http://www.osiligi.org

Every child who attends the school is sponsored. Otherwise they would not be in education. I will be living and working with the staff, getting to know the school and community and hoping to make a difference. I am going to post regularly. The temperature in Kenya next Sunday is expected to be 27C.   I can’t wait!
