Cases packed, house cleaned. It was time to go. I hate protracted farewells so had arranged to leave by 10am. Although I was sorry to be leaving Osiligi, I felt that the school had a clear plan for next term and that Bonface was committed to implementing it. I must also confess that I had worked really hard over the last four weeks and was secretly looking forward to some time as a muzungu tourist.
Richard took us to Nairobi to the Wildebeest Eco Camp in Langata. It’s a lovely haven of peace and tranquility. it’s hard to believe we are in a city. Accommodation is spacious, well-equipped tents and the facilities on site include a pool, a table tennis table and a bar/restaurant. But my absolute favourite features are below.
I am also looking forward to to the arrival of Ruari (my son) and Rebecca (his girlfriend.) We have a few days together to catch up on news and explore Nairobi. We want to pack in as much sightseeing as we can.
So now I’m a tourist for a few weeks. After, Nairobi, Stuart and I will be heading overland to Zanzibar, in Tanzania, on safari. I intend to keep posting blogs about the school – I have lots more stories, anecdotes and reflections to share! I will also include any other adventures or highlights from my safari.

Hi Jo
Glad you are enjoying the blog. I’ve been offline during much of the travel in Tanzania but hope to post more stories from school in May.
